How it runs today
- Twenty projects are running, each at a different step, and only you remember which one is where.
- A file sits with the DISCOM for weeks because nobody followed up. You find out when the customer shouts.
- On the day of filing, someone is searching WhatsApp for the customer's electricity bill and Aadhaar.
- Your last payment comes after the net meter and the subsidy, so every stuck file is your own money stuck.
- Customers call every week to ask when the meter will come, and each call needs three more calls to answer.
How work moves through it
- 1An enquiry is noted with the customer, the plant size and the salesperson
- 2It moves step by step: survey, quote, application, installation, net meter, subsidy
- 3Documents are ticked as they come, and the missing ones are asked for on WhatsApp
- 4A file that has not moved for 15 days turns red, with every DISCOM follow-up noted against it
- 5The customer gets status updates, and you get one report every week
Every part, spelled out
Project board
Every project under the step it is at, from enquiry to subsidy. The days at that step are counted, and a file that stops moving turns red.
Document checklist
Aadhaar, electricity bill, property papers, bank passbook, approvals and the completion report, ticked for each project. You see what is missing before the day of filing.
DISCOM follow-ups
Each call or visit to the office is noted with what was said and the next date. A follow-up no longer depends on one person's memory.
Money waiting
The balance that is held till the net meter and the subsidy, project by project, with the longest wait on top.
Customer updates
Ready WhatsApp messages for each step: documents needed, application filed, installation date, net meter and subsidy. Sent from your own number.
Weekly report
One message to the owner: new enquiries, plants installed, stuck files and the money waiting on them.

Where solar projects get stuck today
Every rooftop project follows the same steps: survey, quote, application, feasibility approval, installation, net meter and subsidy. The work on the roof takes a day or two. The paperwork around it takes weeks, and it moves only when someone follows up.
With twenty or thirty projects running, each at a different step, the status lives in a sheet, in WhatsApp groups and in the owner's head. A file waits because a bank passbook copy is missing, or because nobody went back to the DISCOM office. And because the last payment comes after the net meter and the subsidy, a stuck file is your own money waiting.
What changes with the tracker
- Every project sits on one board, under the step it is at.
- The days at each step are counted. A file that has not moved for 15 days turns red.
- Documents are ticked project by project, so you know what is missing before the day of filing.
- Each DISCOM follow-up is noted with what was said and the next date.
- Customers get a status update on WhatsApp before they call to ask.
- You read one report a week: what moved, what is stuck and how much money is waiting.
What it does not do
It does not file applications or subsidy claims. Your team still does that on the government portal and at the DISCOM, exactly as today. It is not linked to any portal, so the status is what your team enters. It is also not a solar design or proposal tool, and it does not do your accounts. Tally stays for billing.

Before you ask
Does it file the application or the subsidy claim on the government portal?+−
No. Your team files on the national portal and with the DISCOM, as it does today. This tracks which project is at which step, what is missing and who has to follow up. It is not connected to any government portal.
We also do solar for factories and housing societies. Will it work?+−
Yes. The steps and the document list are set for each type of project. A commercial project can have its own steps and papers, without the subsidy step.
How long does it take to start?+−
About two weeks for one process, including loading your current data and training your staff. You first see a demo on your own data, before you pay anything.
Who keeps the board updated?+−
Your own team. The salesperson moves a file when a step is done and ticks the documents, from a phone. We train one person on your team to keep it current.
Does it make solar proposals or system designs?+−
No. It is not a design or proposal tool. Keep the tool you use for layouts and quotes. Only the plant size and the quote amount are entered here, so that the project can be followed.
What does WhatsApp cost?+−
Messages that go out by themselves use a WhatsApp Business tool that you pay for directly, about ₹500 to ₹2,800 a month plus a small charge per message. We set it up on your own number. Tap-to-send messages from your phone cost nothing extra.
Is it charged per user?+−
No. The setup has one fixed price and the monthly plan is flat. Add as many staff as you have.
Where is our data kept?+−
Your quote explains the two options: on a server we run for you, or on your own server. Either way the data is yours and you can export it at any time.
